Not always I agree with the Economist, but this time I cant agree more. Yes, Closing ceremony was impressive in terms of size, number of celebrities taking part and extravaganza, but it did not deliver that special uplifting feeling of Olympic spirit. And, even if it had to be perceived as a portrait of British music, i think it failed in providing fair representation (was there really anything else apart from pop/ rock stuff?).
